Mindful Eating

When you eat your food today, spend 30 seconds looking at it, 30 seconds sniffing it, 30 seconds touching it, 30 seconds tasting it, 30 seconds chewing it and then 30 seconds to swallow it. Don’t do anything else while you eat.

What do you notice? What’s happening to your sensations during each process? What smells do you notice? Is your tummy rumbling? Is your mouth watering?

After the event, think about whether your mind wandered at all? Were you focussed completely on what you were doing?
