What Have You Done For Yourself This Week?
It seems no matter what we do, we all live busy, frantic lives these days. All too often we forget to take time for ourselves.
Most people are aware of their need to self-care, but when you feel like the world is on your shoulders and there aren’t enough hours in the day to fit anything time in for you, it is easier said than done.
However, incorporating self-care practices into daily life can have lasting benefits. They don’t need to be expensive or time-consuming to be effective.
For me self-care is about routine. I write a manual list everyday, which includes my tasks for the day. Included in those tasks are my meetings, client’s, breaks, dog walks, spin session, time with family, cooking…
As I go through the day, I tick the completed tasks off. I always make sure I own my morning. Some days I go for a walk, do a work-out, or some meditation, but by getting up a little earlier that works and I own the rest of the day.
Inevitably other jobs will come in throughout the day, but by making a manual list my head is clear and not everything feels so urgent and desperate.
Anything left over at the end of the day will get added to the task list on the following day.
Give it a try!
