Why is Mindset in Motion important for your business?

HSE states that employers must deliver a duty of care to employees ensuring their wellbeing is protected in the workplace.

Deloitte UK estimates that poor mental health costs the UK business £33bn – £42bn per annum – that equates to 2,316 – 2,947 Starbucks coffees per employee!!

HSE Guidelines state that Businesses must have a policy on mental health and have a mental health solution in place for when an employee issue arises.

Unfortunately, this is not recognised by most company’s and although HR departments do a great job, most HR Manager’s are not trained in mental health and how to recognise it and if an employee’s performance dips, the answer is to normally place them on a performance improvement plan.

Step back and think about this for a moment – if an employee has a mental health issue, putting them on a PIP is only going to make the mental health worse. Managers simply need to have the correct training on how to spot the signs and deal with them correctly.

Mindset in Motion do not take the side of the employee. We are here to support the whole business and ultimately save the business money and make your business the one to want to work for!
