G – Great goals are outcome focused: Once you understand your WHY (and it’s an enthusiastic WHY) you’re almost there.
Great goals should be in line with your values: The more a goal aligns with your inner or core values – the EASIER it will be to achieve.
Get started. Think about what it is that you REALLY want. How will you FEEL when you ACHIEVE your goal? What is the PAIN for you NOT achieving your goal?
O – Obstacles – Can YOU start and maintain this goal?
How will making this change affect other aspects of your life?
If you don’t set goals, what’s the benefit of staying right where you are?
What might you have to stop doing to achieve your goal?
Do you need help to motivate you to achieve your goal?
WHO will you have to be to achieve this goal?
A – Action – Start brainstorming and think of 3 things you need to do more of, do less of, start doing and stop doing to achieve your goals.
Write down your actions until you have a list of 12 actionable bullet points, which is concise. You now have clarity on how to achieve your goals and work on them every day.
L – Love your life. When you have clear defined goals, they INSPIRE YOU, CHALLENGE YOU. When you ACHIEVE them, they improve your SELF-CONFIDENCE and SELF-DOUBT.
Once you start seeing the benefits, you will continue to set goals for yourself. Be BRAVE, make BIG decisions and stick with them. You’ll be surprised how quickly you can get what YOU want. ALWAYS create a PLAN.
S – Stop procrastinating – The longer you put things off, the longer you will stay as you are. Get started. It’s a new year, a new decade. There’s no better time to set inspiring goals for yourself!
